A devoted and loyal club worker he has no hesitation in volunteering for a wide range of duties within our busy club helping out with teams and transport doing gates at home games and attending meetings of various County committees. He is also our newly appointed facilities manager with responsibility for the clubs playing and associated facilities which includes working with the Club’s grounds committee to ensure regular maintenance of our pitches.

However it is during the playing season that Danny’s worth is really appreciated and everyone involved with running any of our teams will readily acknowledge the invaluable role that he plays.

He is the man responsible for ensuring that all our teams playing home matches are accommodated in terms of pitches and that when problems arise as they so often do he is the man contacted to sort everything out from referees not turning up, to pitches been unplayable and fixtures needing to be rearranged. He also arranges training venues for all teams, which is an extremely difficult task particularly in the winter months and is often called upon to provide transport as well. 

Our esteemed games secretary Danny McCartan is once again Club Person of the Year having last won this prestigious award in 2004.
