Weekly Notes 2 August 2015

Last week saw the sudden passing of Teresa Brannigan, wife of our esteemed club member Frankie Brannigan. Teresa’s untimely death has come as a huge shock to us all in the club and in the community. Frankie is a popular and a hard working member of the club and would do anything for any of us and has done on many an occasion. We can only imagine the magnitude of loss of Teresa’s not only to her family here in the Town and in our community but back home in Co Tyrone. The Executive Committee and Members of St Malachys GAC wish to express our deepest sympathy to Frankie, and children Sinead, Catriona, Ruairi, Marie Therese, her grandchildren, her mother Annie and the wide family circle on the passing of Teresa. Mary Banríon má Gael guí ar a son. Féadfaidh sí a chuid eile i síocháin.

Last week also saw the passing of Hugh McAllister, a former playing member of the Town. Hugh was a member of the Senior Football championship winning sides of 1958 and 1965. He gained his second SFC medal against the same opponents in 1965. He was also the proud holder of a Senior League winner’s medal with The Town in 1964. The Executive Committee and Members of St Malachys GAC wish to express our deepest sympathy to the McAllister on the passing of Hugh. Mary Banríon má Gael guí ar a son.
