Weekly Notes 13 September 2015.

Saturday past was the last Saturday morning coaching session of the season for Nursery, P1, P2, P3 and P4 plus U8 and U10 girls.  The session finished with a party, and the club would like to thank those coaches and parents who have helped out all year.  If any parent would like to help out in any way with underage coaching, please get in touch with John O’Neill.  A special thanks goes to three of our senior footballers, Aidan Burns, Sean Dornan & Michael Cunningham, for helping out on the day.  Photos of the morning are up on the club’s website, www.castlewellangac.com

It’s been confirmed that the ladies will take on Cavan Champions Lurgan on Sunday 4th October in the meadow (throw in 2pm) in the QF of the Ulster Club Senior Championship, please come along and show your support.

This order will be the final order for gear in 2015 with delivery expected in late November / early December.

Thanks to all Coaches, Parents and Guardians for your help during the season and we hope your children enjoyed the coaching programme. We would welcome any feedback and are also looking for more help. There will be a meeting of all juvenile coaches in the Clubrooms on Saturday Sept 19th at 10am. A full attendance would be appreciated.

Commiserations to our U14 hurlers who were defeated by Ballygalget in the championship semi-final.  Despite rallying and battling fiercely in the second half, it wasn’t to be, but there were some great displays by our lads.

Congratulations to our senior footballers who have reached the semi-final of the Down senior football championship, for the first time in a number of years.

The senior girls played their final league game away this week against neighbours Kilcoo and had a comprehensive win. Final score Castlewellan 10.14 Kilcoo 3.01! Well done girls!

Due to unforeseen circumstances the scheduled play has been postponed this weekend, with new dates in October to be confirmed. Any tickets bought are valid for the Friday or Saturday of the new dates, or can be refunded. Further updates will be coming up over the next few days.
