U16 girls were away to Teconnaught on Sunday. Due to different reasons the Town girls could only field 14 but still managed to bring some travelling support. The first half saw Castlewellan dominating the game and scoring galore, much to Teconnaught’s frustration. The girls came in at half time 1-0 to 2-10. However, with the calmly weather and no substitutions the Town knew they were going to be pushed. Teconnaught scored straight away from throw in. Amy McCourt held the back line up well with Alannah Megoran also working hard. Teconnaught piled pressure on through out the second half using their subs to their advantage. But the Town girls ensured the win with a further 8 points being scored the second half. This was a game that tested both their fitness and discipline, giving them the result they much deserved. Scores from Louise Doran, Brea McKee, Orla Morgan, Paula McKay and Jade Hammond. Final score 3-6 to 2-18. Well done girls! Next game 17th May against Saval in Saval.

The u12 hurling had a big win away to Newry Shamrocks on Thursday night. Well done lads. Training Wednesday at 5.45. Next game is at home to Ballyvarley .

The u14 Hurling team had a comfortable win away to Bredagh B on Friday night 2-12 to 0-3.

The town seconds came up against a well drilled Bredagh team at the Bann Road on Sunday morning. The game was hotly contested and was in the balance until Bredagh got two late goals to pull away and win by a score line of 3-10 to 1-11. Best for the town were Donal McKibbin who scored some excellent points, Conall Corrigan who consistently marshalled the defence and Colm Flanaghan who never stopped working the whole game.
